Foundations of Woodworking
with Mike Pekovich
All The Tools You Need To Build Your Woodworking Skills
Foundations of Woodworking gets to the very core of the craft of woodworking: laying out, cutting, and assembling joinery for furniture and other treasured wood objects. This in-depth course will take you step-by-step through basic woodworking strategies that apply to anything you might build. Pekovich dives project-by-project into the essential wood joints, from rabbets and dadoes through dovetails and miters. Master these joints – with a combination of hand tools and power tools – and the door is open to create just about any design you can think of.

Testimonials

I appreciate the time and effort made by both Ben & Mike to answer all of the questions in the live Q&A without a time limit. The amount of prior thought and preparation that went into this course was excellent. The quality of the videos both recorded and live was also excellent. I have taken many woodworking classes and this was one of the best quality efforts I've seen.

I just want to say a word about Mike Pekovich and his teaching style. I have some experience with taking classes and listening to professional woodworkers explaining techniques, etc. Mike is by far the best instructor I've ever had the pleasure to watch and learn from. His teaching style is low key and calming yet almost everything he says is gold. Mike not only discusses technique but also the mindset behind the choices he makes in the shop. So many of his comments, both in the Foundations class I just took but also in his online video workshops are just simply chock full of wisdom. There's something in all that Mike relates that really works for me, so yeah - more Pekovich and I'll keep signing up. Also want to add that I thought that Ben was great during this whole production, I just loved the video work, pacing and depth of knowledge of the whole Foundations course. Great job guys!

My expectation was the material would be factual, fairly dry and much like a college presentation with some 'lab' work. What I got was inspiration to step up my game, dig harder into challenging myself to think about the work more. I have a note from one of the video lectures - Think - make purposeful cuts, inspired changes - - leave meaningful chips and sawdust.. If you can inspire an old retired engineer to want to get up and make more beautiful stuff, then all the work in the next courses should model the first one... Thanks!!!
